Work continues on downtown Xenia’s coming attraction—the Xenia Market District! Work at the site will be transitioning to a new phase in the coming days, so we wanted to share some important updates on where work will be concentrated, how to access the local businesses that are still open during construction, and when new businesses and amenities will be available.
• Market Street Reopening: The newly constructed extension of Market Street is scheduled for additional paving October 13th and 14th and should be open for motor vehicle traffic beginning around October 15th. While additional finish work along this roadway will continue (including concrete, landscaping and installation of lighting, signage etc.), Market Street will be a primary access point for customers visiting our great local businesses including Acapulco Restaurant, Donatos Pizza, Nara Thai Kitchen, Nail Ace, Family Dollar and Comfort Dental.
• King Street Phase to Commence: Out with the old, in with the new! Beginning around October 15th, the King Street corridor work will commence, including demo of the current roadway, signage, and walkway and installation of a new grand entry.
• Promenade Finish Underway: Final hardscape and landscape work at one of the XMD’s key amenities, the Promenade, is set to commence immediately. When complete later this year, this unique outdoor venue will serve as a community gathering space for eating, entertaining, and enjoying with access to new local eateries, a performance stage, ambient lighting, and various attractive outdoor features and seating.
• Private Investment and Construction: The Xenia Market District is a public/private partnership that will create a hub of new amenities and housing. Our private development partners are actively working on three private investment projects for phase 1 development, this includes: a contemporary, high-grade hospitality venue, new retail/food service operations, and beautiful town home products for purchase and lease. Property transactions are anticipated this fall with pre-construction efforts advancing through the winter. Look for vertical construction on these new Market District components starting in spring 2026!
