What's your vision for the Hub District?


  • Area surrounding Xenia Station and the four regional bike trails leading from it, on the southern edge of downtown Xenia. See the map to the right!
  • Multiple redevelopment opportunities 
  • Former rail hub with surrounding industrial businesses
  • Rails converted to trails used by bicyclists and walkers locally and from across the country
  • Several surrounding former industrial properties now underutilized and/or vacant. 

Revitalization Plan

  • Vision and actionable plan to encourage redevelopment, building rehabilitation, infrastructure improvements
  • In connection with neXtPlan (Xenia's comprehensive plan)
  • Identify opportunities for new recreational amenities, housing and businesses
  • Improve opportunities and quality of life for existing businesses and neighborhoods
  • Assets to build from:
  • Nonprofit Congress for New Urbanism (CNU) selected this as a 2024 Legacy Project
    • CNU: Advocate for walkable urbanism, provides resources, education, and technical assistance to reimagine spaces within communities to be connected, vibrant, and economically robust.
    • Partnering with Opticos Design, a national planning and design leader, to help Xenia develop the Hub District plan at a steeply discounted cost. 


  • Three-day charrette – an intensive planning process that will involve residents, property owners, business owners, developers, and public officials - from Tuesday, February 27 to Thursday, February 29
  • Planners and designers to work throughout the day, meet with stakeholders, host three public meetings

Public Meetings


  • Tuesday, February 27, 5:00 – 6:30 PM: Opening presentation and community input activity 
  •  Wednesday, February 27, 5:00 – 6:30 PM: Open house event, allowing members of the public to view work created thus far and provide feedback
  • Thursday, February 27, 5:00 – 7:00 PM: Closing presentation of design and planning concepts
