
Bishop Edgar A. Wallace
Xenia City Councilman and Bishop Edgar A. Wallace passed away on December 2, 2020. He served as a Council member from January 1, 2017, until his death. He served as the Council Vice President for three consecutive years in 2018, 2019, and 2020. He was the pastor of First United Christian Church in Xenia, Ohio. He served churches in North Carolina, Tennessee, and Kentucky. He has also served the church in many capacities at the local, regional, and national level. He was married to Joyce Wallace, his beautiful bride, for 55 years.
Bishop Wallace loved the Lord and his church, he enjoyed teaching and preaching. He was employed as a Social Worker at Wilberforce University. At Bethel Christian, his first Disciples ministry, he developed Bethel Housing, a fifty-one unity HUD 202 for the elderly. He served as President of the Lexington National Association for the Advancement of Colored People or NAACP as it is commonly known, and the Kentucky State Conference of the NAACP.
Bishop Wallace prepared for ministry with Social Work degrees from the University of Kentucky (BASW) and the University of Louisville (MSSW). He received Seminary training at Emmanuel Christian Seminary and the Graduate Theological Foundation where he earned his MBA in Church Management and his Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Care and Counseling.
