Community Housing Improvement Program (CHIP)

The State of Ohio CHIP Programprovides grants to small cities and counties that will help them to specifically provide housing assistance to qualified applicants. Those grants must be applied for by the municipality, and they are awarded on a competitive basis.

Xenia Grants

In 2014 the City of Xenia entered into an agreement with Greene County to apply for and subsequently administer a new CHIP program. Greene County loaned or granted nearly $600,000 in Greene County with significant funds spent in the City of Xenia from the 2014 grant. This Spring the County again has applied for another CHIP grant through Ohio Development Services. If awarded, funds will become available in 2019-2021. Please check with Greene County Community Development a greenecountydod.org to learn more about potential housing funding for Xenia residents.
